Jean-Jacques Jean-Jaques Etchandy is happy to welcome you to his refuge :Orisson Refuge.

Situated in the heart of Pays Basque on the GR65 route between Saint Jean Pied de Port and the Bentarte Mountain, it is the best place to stay before crossing the Lépoéder mountains.

Warning: Priority to people arriving on foot

Many pilgrims have come to appreciate the beauty of the landscape and the peacefulness of the area: an ultimate resting place on the Compostelle walk.

The refuge

With a capacity of 28 beds in dormitories of 6 and 10 beds, the Orisson refuge is open from March to October.

It was converted from an ancient shepherd’s house in 2004, maintaining the traditional charm, while offerin some comfort.

For pilgrims who would like acomodation but no dinner or breakfast or for those who are accompanied by a vehicle, we propose the “Kayola gîte” situated 800m before Refuge Orisson by the orientation table.

You will have access to a kitchen, showers and toilets.

It is also possible for people to make a reservation for dinner or breakfast at the “Refuge Orisson” (00 33 559491303 / 00 33 681497956)
